[RELATIVE PRONOUN] Common errors

Common errors of Korean students

A. Subjective relative pronoun

1) don't omit subject in relative clause
ex) I met a woman who she lived in Beijing.

2) omit be-verb in relative clause
ex) We met a man who ø from England.

3) misplace relative clause in complex structure
ex) The cat was there which we saw yesterday.

B. Objective relative pronoun

1) don't omit object in relative clause
ex) There is a car which Mike bought the car.


C. Relative pronoun (regardless of its case)

1) use wrong relative pronoun
ex) I saw a movie who was very sad.
    He is the man which won five gold medals.
