[expletive IT with to-infinitive] activities

step 1. explain why the structure is made
ex) To travel is fun.
     To travel Japan, Brazil, China, and Russia is fun.
  -> Subject is too long. 
  
     It is fun to travel Japan, Brazil, China, and Russia.
  -> We move it to the back. We write a false subject IT.


step 2. drill using the target structure
ex) Rewrite it in 'It... to' structure
     To bake butter cookies and chocolate cookies was not easy.
 ->_______________
  
     Underline the true subject.
 -> It is difficult to master a new language.

     Reorder the given words. (Korean translation can be given)
 -> to / was / it / impossible / snore / and  / at the same time / dream
  = _______________ (꿈을 꾸면서 코를 동시에 고는 것은 불가능했다.)


step 3. worksheet
 a) brainstorm what is fun/important/boring.... for them

b) put their answers into drawings

 c) Change worksheets with their partners, make a guess
   ex. "It is fun for you to.... to play computer games."


It is sad for me to live in Korea. It is divided.


It is difficult for me to study Japanese.



It is easy for me to play computer games.







[Improvisation] Change [c. pairwork] into whole class activity.

Need a cell phone, App 'Mobizen'
Teacher photographs students' work while they draw.
Mirrors the drawings.
Students make a guess as a whole class.
